Stuart Greaves, who gives leadership to the NightWatch at IHOP–KC, spoke this morning out of Isaiah 6 about the need for messengers who will proclaim the Lord. Stuart highlighted the question being asked to this generation: who do men say that the Lord is? Isaiah recognized that his words alone could not connect the people’s hearts to the vision he had received. By his own strength, Isaiah was unable to effectively declare God and make Him known. Stuart’s invitation was to enter into a place of prayer and fellowship with God so our mouth is cleansed, we receive a revelation of God, and are given grace to reveal Christ.

Laura Hackett led worship for the afternoon session and Shelley Hundley revisited the foundations for prophetic ministry: love, edification, preparation, prayer, and suffering long. As one of her main emphases, Shelley called those who desire to prophesy back to the primary posture of prayer.

The evening session provided Allen Hood the opportunity to discuss one of his favorite books, Joel. Allen focused on Joel 1 and spoke about the sobering facts of the Church in the Western world. After listing the depravity that has lulled the Church into false comfort, Allen rephrased the Lord’s answer from Joel: shut everything down and bring the nation together to fast and pray so we may hear from the Lord. Pulling from the first chapter, Allen listed the application to our season in history: we must discern the season rightly; we must not draw back from proclaiming the Day of the Lord; we must blow the second trumpet of Joel and give God no rest in revival prayer until the crisis is turned into blessing; and we need to ask the Holy Spirit for a burden for revival.

MP3 archives and notes from each session are available online.
