FAQ
When should I apply?
As soon as you can; we suggest at least two months before the internship starts. The internship fills up fast, and we stop accepting applications when we are full. We do not keep applications on file for subsequent openings. The cutoff date for receiving “complete” applications is two weeks before the internship start date.
Am I guaranteed a place in the program?
No one is guaranteed a place in the internship. Please only make plans to come to the internship once you have been accepted into the program.
How do I apply for Track 2?
A less detailed application will need to be filled out during Track 1. Do I have to do Track 1 and Track 2 in succession or can I split them up? You can do either. Split them up or do them in succession. However, you only have 18 months after track 1 to do Track 2.
What does tuition cover?
Tuition covers housing, utilities, three meals per day, and classes. A deposit is required two weeks after new students are accepted with the remaining tuition due before the beginning of the internship. Interns should plan on budgeting for curriculum expenses—books and materials—as well as personal expenses such as laundry, entertainment, car expenses, and personal items.
If someone gives me money for my tuition, is it tax-deductible?
No, tuition is not tax-deductible. After you commence the internship you may join the IHOP–KC payroll and receive tax-deductible support from donors.
Do I need a car or a laptop?
No. However, we recommend that each intern have access to a car during the internship, as it is helpful for getting to classes and for personal shopping. A laptop is useful for study and communication but is not required.
Where will I live during FITN?

Can I provide my own housing?

Can I date during the internship?

Can I apply for a staff position at IHOP–KC once I complete FITN?
Yes. However, you must complete both Track 1 and Track 2 in order to apply for staff.
