Weep between the Porch and the Alter

For three days now I have been repeatedly listening to the last several minutes of a particular track from this CD called Standing on the Wall. The track is a 20 minute session where Mike Bickle and Misty Edwards explore the verses from Joel 2.

In this music, they repeatedly sing these phrases, "I will rend my heart", "I will tear my heart", "I will return with all my strength", "I will return to my Father's heart", "in my Father's house is where I find mercy", "the zeal for His house consumes me", and this phrase most of all, "weep between the porch and alter".

It's a call to tarry with the Father in His house in prayer, fasting and weeping, crying out for the Father's heart of mercy over His people, to not let them become a reproach among the nations, but to restore them to what the Father desired for them.

My brain didn't even pick this up for quite some time, but my heart did. I too, am experiencing profound sorrow.

All I know is that I must go and tarry in the Father's house and rend my heart. I do not seek mercy to cover sin. I seek mercy that we would no longer be allowed to continue as we are. We simply can't continue going on like this. Too many of His people have been destroyed. Too many have suffered. Too many have given up hope of the day of the Lord ever coming. Nobody's serious. Nobody's weeping.

Well, at least that's what it feels like. I'm glad to know others are weeping.

They also sing on this track, "wisdom will be justified", "just you wait and see", "in my Father's house", "I'll meet you there", "we will be together".

The key here for me is the "zeal for His house" consuming us. His house is where we come close to Him, where we have communion with Him, where we experience His holiness, where we intercede for His grace and mercy, where we realize how close His judgments are, and where we learn of His wisdom.

Think of it. We are so ignorant, not knowing what to do, and yet He is the author of true wisdom. Why haven't our hearts been consumed for His house, for His presence and for His wisdom?

In this track, Mike Bickle yells out at one point, "You will find Me in My Father's house. I will roar from Zion like a lion. I will roar through your voice and your hearts. I will shake everything that can be shaken. Do not be surprised. I am in my Father's house!"

This is my sense. We are not praying for a mercy that brings no shaking. We are to tarry with the Father, tearing our hearts, so that everything that can be shaken will be shaken, and so that wisdom will be justified. We are not to tear other people down. We are to tear our hearts, while dwelling in the Father's house.

Wisdom will be justified. Just you wait and see. In the Father's house.

By God's grace and the continual pressing in by Mike, Allen, and Dwayne (and numerous other in the prayer room), you can hear the authority and passion in their voices for the release of the Holy Spirit in greater measure to bring the final stage for Jesus before His return. The prayers and cries for Israel can be heard loud and clear, and we must all stand on this to truly be partners with Jesus and what His heart is about. You will also hear the deep yearnings of the forerunner...that we must know God in this hour...and that a "now" attitude is needed. Out of all the IHOP cd's I've bought, this is one that my stereo and ears have probably gotten the most hours of use from.

This CD is absolutely powerful. #5 is rippling as I was literally in the service at the women in the prophetic conference Oct'05 when this powerful song of the Lord came forth. It stirs a craving deep in the spirit to rend the heart before the Lord. It's everything I feel in my heart, literally everything I even questioned. Most powerful. Thank you for releasing this song into CD.
